5 Ways to Express Gratitude Every Day

How is November more than half over? Oh and how is Thanksgiving this coming week?! Most people become very stressed out this time of year. We are rushing around buying groceries, cleaning the house, and mentally preparing ourselves for family. But what about the true meaning behind Thanksgiving and being grateful for what we have? The simple, not visible things like time with family and the love we feel.  We need to be grateful for what really matters. However, Thanksgiving really shouldn’t be the only day we express gratitude in our life.

We should be expressing our gratitude each and every day.

It will make you feel better and help you be in the present moment. Gratitude is more than just saying thank you. It’s the feeling that creates joy and happiness. The contentment you feel when you sit back and realize all you have. The more gratitude you, the more joy you will find in your life. Expressing gratitude daily will not only help you feel better but you can make someone else’s day as well. Gratitude does not cost anything and is free to give away! The more gratitude you have in your life, the more you will feel fulfillment.

Thank someone important in your life
Maybe it’s your mom, grandpa, or best friend who has always been there for you and you want to tell them how special they are too you. I guarantee you’ll feel better and so will they!

Forgive someone
Is there someone you are still holding a grudge against? Well, it may be time to forgive them. You’re only hurting yourself by holding that grudge.

Help someone in need
The best way to feel gratitude is to help someone else, especially those in need. Volunteer at a soup kitchen or donate some items to the animal shelter.

Journal
Start each day by journaling a few things you are grateful for in that moment. It could be that you got to sleep in an extra hour or maybe you get to get your hair done that day.

Compliment a stranger
As scary as this may seem, you’ll feel great after doing it.  Making someone else feel better about themselves will make you feel better about yourself.

Expressing gratitude doesn’t need to be a chore. The more you do it the easier it will be and the more you’ll enjoy doing it.
